RIMS George Town Workshop Now Open

January 2005 saw the opening of RIMS second workshop facility located at George Town in northern Tasmania. The northern workshop offers the same friendly, efficient service and reduces the problems of turnaround time for equipment freighted to Hobart.

Tony Cruse is our northern Workshop Supervisor, Tony is experienced with pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic & pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic & pneumatic fittings and welding. The workshop has also has an extensive Machine Shop with skilled operators. Please contact Tony or RIMS northern Technical Representative, Heath Shipley for more information.

New RIMS design Marine Crane

RIMS have recently delivered a Marine Crane to Tasmanian shipbuilder North West Bay Ships. The crane is a new RIMS design (model number T6). It is constructed from Marine grade aluminium and stainless steel and features remote wand control. T6 has a slew capability of 360 degrees, can lift up to 4.3 metric tonnes and has a jib length of 7.5 meters.

North West Bay Ships will be installing T6 on a sixty meter motor yacht currently under construction, the primary purpose of the crane will be to launch a Boston Whaler Conquest and several jet skis from the vessel.

RIMS Rescue boat davit type T1A is a high strength, low weight, low maintenance product. The company has just sold a davit to Austal Ships in Western Australia to be installed on their latest vessel for Fred Olsen.

The RIMS Rescue Boat Davit Type T1A is designed to provide an economical solution to rescue boat launch and recovery needs. The product meets SOLAS, IMO and EU requirements. The davit is made primarily of high strength marine aluminium and stainless steel, making it both light in weight and low maintenance.
